Chatham Manor was the second round of free Half Priced Minis! This was super strategic because the National Park Service charges $100 per day to any photographer being paid for their services (even if the photog doesn’t charge $100 for their session). Since it was free, we didn’t have to pay.
Chatham Manor was beautiful, but tight. This was my first time ever here. I did my homework- Googled the mess out of this place. Satellite view to see the layout, Google listing photos for the rest.
I generally like wide open spaces just before sunset, but I really loved the way the light came through the columns in the garden. The backyard had a lovely view of downtown Fredericksburg over the river. The wall made a great climbing feature for the toddler :D.
This place was excellent for mini sessions. I don’t know that I would recommend paying $100 for a single family session because its so tight and be pretty limiting for a family, especially a large family. But there was an open field near the parking lot we never used.. but next time!
