Family photos with a preschooler and infant are some of my favorite. Three year olds just tell you like it is and I LOVE that. This little dude was especially cool because he already knew me as “Reid’s mom.” I’m pretty sure he even asked where Reid was before we started… or maybe I’m just imagining that.
Like all preschool boys, he wasn’t totally into the photo thing. He wasn’t fully on board with ‘helping’ or playing with his 9 month old his sister.
I don’t say that to bash him, but to show what super awesome shots we still got! I didn’t force it. We played. We ran, chased, splashed, and took breaks when he needed. If you’re on the fence about doing photos because of the temperament of your small crew, you just need to find the right photog 😉
And even more, this gallery was TWICE as big as my usual deliveries. I had to wave the white flag of surrender because I couldn’t narrow it down any further. #sorrynotsorry
This family session actually happened on the originally scheduled day! That’s a huge reason to rejoice as have I’ve had two sessions dangling in the air due to rain and heavy clouds. And the forecast this weekend doesn’t look any better. Being 30 days out from our big PCS to Quantico, that’s nerve wrecking!
You can see my favorite shot from the whole session here.I (Alison) am the circus ring leader of four boys. We're a half-homeschooling USMC family, currently in Virginia.
