I really really l-o-v-e photographing families with 1. Lots of kids and 2. Little kids. I say it a lot but I can’t help it. It’s ironic for me as a parent but man, the ornery the better.
As a mom, I’m strict. I expect first time obedience and if you’ve seen my Instagram stories, you’ve seen our more creative and frequent consequences. When it comes to our own family photo session, I always require a photographer that can handle my crew with a cheerful command.
But as a photographer, they ornery ones have so much life, and zeal and the faces are endless. I take that character and run with it, and hopefully they have no idea what’s going on.
Our families here have parallel lives with the ages and spacing of our broods. Our boys are friends through our school group and mom was one of our tutors! We even left Okinawa within a month of each other to land in the Northern VA area together.
This was the third to final session in Okinawa. This family was awesome to join my crazy train. We didn’t know if we would have a car or if the weather would cooperate. We kept it open and prayed for the best.
IT WAS AWESOME! The pink, the blues, the teals. This sunset was my second colorful sunset of the season and possibly the last one I saw with my own eyes!Alison is the chaos-commanding family photographer thriving in the loud & messy offering in home lifestyle and outdoor sessions. She is the circus ring leader of four boys, half-homeschooling USMC family, currently in Virginia Beach but born and raised in Charleston, SC. Find me on Insta @alisonbellphotog!
