This was my first session at Manassas Battlefield. New locations me nervous. I like to know my location (and my light!) like the back of my hand. I want to know exactly where the sun is going to hang in every 15 minute increment. This is the hardest part of a PCS for me: learning new locations and light.
We planned to start early in the event of clouds, but the sky was completely clear by go time. Honestly, the field was so wide open it was a lot like sessions on the beaches of Okinawa! (I may or may not have done that on purpose. ha!)
There was so much light we stuck to the big tree for shade. It did not disappoint. The light coming through the leaves, and streaming between branches was a delight.
Side story: I got to use my new blanket from Anthropologie for the first time! I was prepared to pay big bucks for this blanket but the register said it was on clearance, unmarked of course! I got it for almost a quarter of the price!
So the FREE part. Yes! None of my clients paid a penny for their session! Being new in town I didn’t feel comfortable experimenting on people and their money. So to ease my nerves (and probably theirs too) these were 100% complimentary. Round two of FREE Half Price Minis has ONE slot available.
